Solid timber is built to last a lifetime. A little care keeps it looking its best.
Everyday care
- Wipe spills promptly with a soft, damp cloth — avoid leaving standing liquid on the surface.
- Use mats or coasters under hot dishes and drinks.
- Avoid harsh chemicals and abrasive cleaners.
The tabletop
Our tops are finished with Osmo Polyx hard-wax oil, a durable, food-safe finish that is easy to maintain and repair. Every so often — or if the surface starts to look tired — you can refresh it with a thin coat of the same oil.
The base
Painted bases are finished in a hard-wearing eggshell. Marks usually wipe away with a damp cloth; deeper scuffs can be touched in with a little matching paint.
Living with solid wood
Natural timber moves gently with the seasons and humidity in your home. Small movements, hairline checks and changes in tone are part of its character, not a fault.
