Furniture Warranty
Our commitment
Every piece of furniture supplied by Dekkor Home LTD trading as The Rustic Table Company is carefully handcrafted and inspected before delivery.
We want you to enjoy your furniture for many years. If you experience a problem, please contact us and we will work with you to understand the issue and provide an appropriate solution.
This warranty is provided in addition to your statutory consumer rights. Nothing in this warranty limits or replaces those rights.
Warranty period
Our furniture is covered by a 12-month workmanship warranty, beginning on the date it is delivered.
The warranty applies to furniture purchased directly from Dekkor Home LTD trading as The Rustic Table Company for normal domestic use in the United Kingdom or Ireland.
What the warranty covers
Subject to the conditions below, the warranty covers manufacturing or workmanship faults affecting:
- The structural integrity of the furniture.
- Table and bench frames, bases and legs.
- Joints and fixings installed by us.
- Assembly performed by our delivery team.
- The application of the original painted or oiled finish.
- Materials that were defective when the furniture was supplied.
Where a valid warranty claim is accepted, we will provide an appropriate remedy. Depending on the nature of the fault, this may include a repair, replacement component, replacement product, price reduction or refund.
We will determine the most appropriate remedy after considering the nature of the fault, the age of the furniture and the requirements of applicable consumer law.
The natural characteristics of solid wood
Solid wood is a natural material that responds to its environment. Variations between pieces are part of the character of handmade wooden furniture and do not necessarily indicate a fault.
Natural characteristics may include:
- Variations in colour, grain, texture and tone.
- Knots, marks, indentations and evidence of the timber’s previous use.
- Small surface checks, splits or hairline cracks.
- Minor expansion, contraction or movement caused by changes in temperature or humidity.
- Slight variations in dimensions or finish.
- Differences between samples, website photographs and the finished furniture.
We will assess any reported movement or cracking individually. Natural variation will not be treated as a defect unless it materially affects the furniture’s structural integrity, safety or normal use.
What is not covered
This additional warranty does not cover damage or deterioration caused by:
- Normal wear and tear.
- Accidental damage, misuse, neglect or improper handling.
- Failure to follow our care guidance.
- Placing furniture in a damp, excessively cold or excessively humid environment.
- Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight.
- Positioning furniture next to radiators, fires, heaters or other direct heat sources.
- Storing furniture in a garage, shed, outbuilding or other unsuitable location.
- Using furniture outdoors unless it was expressly sold for outdoor use.
- Moving, dismantling or reassembling furniture incorrectly.
- Alterations or repairs performed by somebody not authorised by us.
- Commercial use where the product was sold for domestic use.
- Damage caused by pets, children, staining, impact or inappropriate cleaning products.
- Failure to protect the surface from heat, moisture, sharp objects or abrasive materials.
- Reasonable colour or finish changes that occur as wood ages.
- Damage that was disclosed and accepted at the time of purchase.
These exclusions do not apply where the reported problem results from a fault that existed when the furniture was supplied or where consumer law provides a remedy.
Caring for your furniture
To help protect your furniture:
- Keep it in a dry, temperature-controlled indoor environment.
- Do not store it in a garage, shed or damp room.
- Keep it away from direct heat and prolonged sunlight.
- Wipe spills promptly with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth.
- Do not use harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners or silicone-based polish.
- Use coasters, placemats and heat-resistant mats.
- Do not place very hot, wet or sharp objects directly on the surface.
- Lift furniture when moving it rather than dragging it.
- Check accessible fixings periodically and tighten them carefully when necessary.
- Follow any product-specific care instructions supplied with your order.
Further guidance is available on our Table Care page.

Telephone: 07826 899685
Website: therustictablecompany.uk
Please provide:
- Your name and order number.
- The delivery address.
- A description of the problem.
- When you first noticed it.
- Clear photographs of the complete item and the affected area.
- A short video where movement or instability is involved.
- Information about where and how the furniture has been stored and used.
Please stop using the furniture immediately if you believe it may be unsafe.
Inspection and repairs
We may ask for additional photographs or arrange an inspection before accepting a claim.
Please allow us a reasonable opportunity to inspect and, where appropriate, repair the furniture. Do not arrange a repair or alteration through another person without first contacting us, unless urgently necessary for safety or permitted by applicable consumer law.
For an accepted warranty claim, we will cover the reasonable cost of the agreed repair, replacement components and any collection or redelivery that we arrange.
If an inspection shows that the problem is not covered by this warranty or applicable consumer law, we will explain our findings. Where possible, we may offer a chargeable repair. No chargeable work will be carried out without your agreement.
Replacement products and components
Because our furniture is handmade from natural materials, a replacement product or component may not be identical in grain, colour, character or finish to the original.
Where practical, we will make reasonable efforts to achieve a close match.
A repaired or replacement item will remain covered for the remainder of the original warranty period. This does not affect any statutory rights that apply independently.
Second-hand and transferred products
This additional warranty applies to the original purchaser and requires proof of purchase.
Any statutory rights belonging to a consumer are not affected by this condition.
Statutory rights
This warranty gives you additional protection and does not affect your legal rights.
Goods must meet the standards required by applicable consumer law, including being of satisfactory or reasonable quality, fit for their intended purpose, as described and sufficiently durable.
Depending on the circumstances, your statutory remedies may include repair, replacement, a price reduction, rejection of the goods or a refund. These rights may continue after this 12-month warranty has ended.
For independent guidance, UK customers can contact Citizens Advice, and customers in Ireland can contact the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission.
